My name is Menelik aka FINE$$E. FINE$$E represents how I express myself through Visual Storytelling, Abstract Art, & Music. My work is inspired by a range of subjects. Earth, Space, & life experiences inspire me. Skateboarding, Dance, and Graffiti also heavily influence my work, movement, colors, style, & freedom. There are so many aspects in skateboarding that all tie together which makes everything what it is. The way you do your tricks, the outfit you wear, the music you listen to while skating. I appreciate all of these aspects because they complete the experience. As well as being able to express yourself through these mediums to tell your story how you want to. When I pick up a camera I am able to capture these moments from my perspective & tell a story through my pictures & videos. Djing & Producing give me the freedom to complete my story with a soundtrack. I like to DJ to share the songs I skateboard to, dance to, & create my Art. As well as tell a story about my influences & taste in sound. Which also applies when I am producing a song. Everyday is different, so I always take time to appreciate & experience new things. Trying new things always opens me up to new feelings & to appreciate things I never knew existed. Everyday is a constant learning process, always challenging myself to have fun & not limit myself. Creating multiple mediums gives me the freedom I desire to express myself however I want. As well giving me access to do the things I love with no limit. Sometimes I'll paint, experiment with Resin, pick up a camera, or produce a song. I mostly like to experiment with textures, depth, & color with my pieces. Acrylic Pouring, Resin Art, Experimenting with chemicals. Gives me the freedom to experiment with science & art to appreciate all the endless possibilities you can achieve using science. Being able to have such a range of freedom gives me the room to experiment & appreciate. It's always something about colors and presentation that appeals to me, then my brain starts to flow. Most of my life I've been skateboarding which introduced me to graffiti, music, fashion, & other Art Styles. There's always graffiti & graffiti Artists at the skatepark. When you're constantly around it you learn how to read it, as well as the different styles. Graffiti pieces tend to get buffed, written over, or destroyed when abandoned buildings are torn down. So I hire graffiti Artists to create designs with a desired style, so they have a place to live forever. As well as being able to showcase this style everywhere. That's what makes my Art what it is, as well as who I am.
